Bazinet Vault

About Bazinet.net

The person behind it

I'm a young developer based in Montreal, and Bazinet.net is my one-person software studio. "Bazinet" is a common surname here in Québec — it's mine — so when I needed a name for the things I was building, putting my own on the door felt honest. Everything on this site is designed, coded, and run by me.

What you see here isn't a startup with a boardroom and a pitch deck. It's what one person can build with a laptop, a lot of curiosity, and modern tools that put serious infrastructure within reach of anyone willing to learn. That independence is the whole point: no investors to answer to, no data to sell, no roadmap dictated by anyone but the people actually using the software.

How it started — and where it's going

Bazinet.net began as a single learning project: Bazinet Vault, a zero-knowledge password manager I built to really understand how encryption, key derivation, and browser cryptography fit together. It worked, I started using it every day, and one project quietly turned into a habit of building.

Since then it's grown into a small family of independent tools that share one account and one philosophy:

The plan is to keep going the same way — shipping small, focused tools under a single Bazinet account, and letting the site evolve around whatever I'm curious enough to build well.

How it stays free (and independent)

Running Bazinet.net costs almost nothing, by design: it runs lean on Cloudflare's edge, so I can keep the core free for everyone. The model is simple and, I hope, fair:

No venture funding, no selling your data — just a project that pays for itself so it can stay online and independent.

What I believe

Privacy by design. The most trustworthy way to keep a secret is to make sure the service holding it can't read it in the first place.

Honesty over hype. These are independent, actively-developed projects — not audited enterprise products. I'll always tell you plainly what something is and isn't, so you can decide what to trust it with.

Do more with less. A single developer with the right tools can build things that are fast, private, and genuinely useful. That's the bet this whole site is making.
